Over the last few weeks we have been focusing on our sparring stances. While the 50-50 weighting we have been working on is not new, I have put a much stronger emphasis on lowering your stances, ensuring that your back foot is at a 45 degree angle and, most importantly, staying engaged in that position for the entire match. Alberta Chito Kai (the provincial Chito Ryu association) is holding a casino fundraiser in April and is in urgent need of volunteers. The casino will be held at Cash Casino at 4040 Blackfoot Trail SE in Calgary on April 25 and 26. Volunteers are needed for the following positions:
